The bed and breakfast – a fine example of the Edwardian style of domestic architecture in South Africa - stands in the leafy streets of Waterkloof, overlooking the fairways of the Pretoria Country Club golf course. The guest house is set in a mature garden. Often used for romantic bridal photos, the garden is lush, shady and filled with camellias, roses, tree ferns and elephant ears. Inside, our large rooms and spacious covered verandas offer the visitor a serene experience that is hard to duplicate in more modern settings.

If you are a visitor to South Africa you can’t fail to imbibe some of our country’s history at Edward House. We have dedicated the accommodation in the bed and breakfast to famous South African Edwardians, Olive Schreiner, Mahatma Ghandi, Jan Smuts and Cecil John Rhodes and we pride ourselves on reproducing the graciousness of the era in which they lived.

We are surrounded by most major ambassadorial residences. For diplomats the German, English, British, American, Spanish, Italian, Dutch and Danish embassy residences – to name but a few – are either in the same street or not more than a few blocks away.

Whether you are a businessman, discerning tourist, or golfer Edward House is ideal. The golf course couldn’t be closer and Pretoria is easy to access most major tourist attractions such as the Apartheid Museum, Voortrekker Monument, Cradle of Humankind and De Wildt Cheetah Breeding Centre.

The guest house is a favourite destination for travellers on the romantic steam train Rovos Rail as well as the world famous Blue Train. Tourists on the way to the Kruger National Park game reserve find us ideally situated.  For the more academically minded, our accommodation is also close to both Pretoria University and Unisa.
